I have had other friends try this, and it's 50/50 whether or not they like the flavor. I love it. And it works. For someone like me, that has never drank pop and really doesn't like coffee, this is a great substitute for a wake up drink. It lasts the whole day and there's no crash. Just don't drink it too close to bed, or you won't sleep right away.

i drink the acai juice every day and was looking for something to add to my water. this stuff is supposed to be great for you. i have noticed a decrease in my aches and pains and also, i have alot more energy. enough of the acai, as for this powder, i love it. this is the third time i am getting it. i used to by crystal light and lipton mixes to add to my water, but this is better. it is natural and you do get an energy buzz after you drink it. you don't feel gittery but you know you have more energy plus, it is supposed to be great for you. it is very tasty and if you are looking for something to spice up that plain water, this is it. i know it is pricey, but the health benefits are worth it.

I had lap-band surgery 8 months ago. I wish that I had this book just after surgery. There really are good suggestions of how to fit the recipes into your life at each stage after surgery (liquids, mush food, solids, etc.). The one thing that I didn't like is that her timeline of when to switch from liquids to mush foods, etc. was different than the one given by my Dr. I think that if one follows the Drs recommendations of when to switch and the cookbooks recommendations of how to adapt the recipes for each stage, this book could be a big help.

Potential buyers should know that this book's usefulness is not limited to those who have undergone weight loss surgery. It is also of tremendous value to people recovering from dental work or jaw surgery, where soft or liquid diets are of necessity for a length of time. As someone who has experienced this type of surgery, I can attest to the desire for flavorful meals, beyond what can be found in typical shakes, soups and purees. This book is the answer.

The recipes are varied, well-written, and most importantly, produce delicious results. Patt Levine has done an amazing job of creating a valuable resource for people who have gone through a trying physical ordeal, and now long to resume a sense of normalcy. Since so much of our lives revolves around what we eat, this book is a must-have!

You know, one of the reasons I underwent a gastric bypass surgery in December was to escape the hordes of diet religionists--those odd folks who have found the solution to their dietary woes and will proselytize until the cows come home!
Enough, says I, of no-carb, low-carb, non-fat, low-fat, this, that and the next! Surgery so altered my body that many of the choices I once made are invalid--out of my hands! I can't eat the crap that made me fat anymore because now it makes me sick.
And yet, imagine my dismay when, recovering from surgery, I found even more no-carb religionists among my surgically altered compatriots. One woman's intolerance of my ideas was such that I had to filter her e-mail directly into the trash! Even though I had now an anatomy that wouldn't tolerate certain foods, she insisted that I had to further subjugate myself to her odd notions of nutrition. No carbs ever again!
And so it was with a sigh of relief that I opened this book to read my new mantra: all in moderation.
After all, surgery means that you can eat what you love. You can have good food and love it. What you can't do is binge. What you can do is make a meal of fat and sugar. And this book points the way.
Salads, entrees, desserts, it's all here. And more: suggestions on how to change the contents of your refrigerator and pantry to make eating easier.
After all, life after surgery need not be deprivation. Most of got fat on deprivation and our inevitable gut-busting reaction to that, so a book that tells me how to enjoy what I now eat is a wonder to behold.

Got this through the vine program for review. I am a physician and have experience and am well read on the subject of electrotherapy and also an avid gym rat. I thought this might be fun to try out for free. If you think for even one minute that this device will give you a six pack then you, my friend, are a sucker. Just like every late-night infomercial touting 6-minute abs, ab lounge, ab swing, etc, this device will not trim your midsection, destroy your love handles, obliterate your beer gut or baby fat, or even improve your strength. Let me explain how this works. You can not see your abdominal muscles because there is too much fat on top of them, not because they are not big enough. You can train and hypertrophy your abs all you want, but unless you get your body fat below about 8% you will not see them. As the old adage goes, abs are made in the kitchen, not the gym. However, as opposed to all the other late-night sucker products that actually make you exercize (to varying extents), this is even worse. Similar to TENS units used by physical therapists for rehab, this device simply causes the muscle to contract artificially by passing a small current through the skin and muscle, triggering a depolarization. When you train a certain exercise naturally, you improve the neural connections to those muscles in that range of motion. Therefore, if you don't build and strengthen the neuromuscular connections to the desired muscles and their stabilizers, you do not get strength gains. Hence, this does not even make you stronger in real-world applications, such as, say, doing a sit up. So if it doesn't give you a 6-pack, and it doesn't make you stronger, then does it do anything? Well it may cause you to consume some extra calories. Muscle does have to use energy when it is depolarized and contracts, but that's about it - and a very small amount of calories at that. It's designed for lazy people with poor judgement and too much spare cash. Get on the floor and do some crunches...it's not that hard.

I was author Leah Garcia's first personal training client in Boulder over 10 years ago. She was coming off a career as one of the top ranked mountain bike racers in the world. She was an expert on muscle confusion, periodization and proper nutrition long ago. I thought I was in decent shape for an almost 40 year old until I moved to Boulder and met Leah. She transformed me and my body in a short amount of time. There are a lot of books on weight training but this is the first that hits a home run with it's straight forward, easy to follow content, images and layout.
